Spring cleaning has come and gone but for many of us who live the way of the procrastinator, spring cleaning extends to whatever season in which we get around to it. When we do finally come to the point where we just cannot take how dirty and messy the house looks, we want to make sure that we can clean it with the use of vacuum and be done with it as fast as possible.
Here are seven home cleaning tips anyone can use to make they’re cleaning a little less painful:
1. Microfiber cloths
Next time you clean to be sure to carry around a few microfiber cloths with you. In getting dust and particles up quick and easy, these handy little cloths are great. When you combine it with water it really gets the job done well and the static electricity generated when using these cloths attracts all the dust.
Just throw these little guys in the wash and they’ll be ready to use for the next clean after you are done.
2. Use of solutions
Get all the streaks off your windows and glass with newspaper and Windex! Newspaper and Windex work like a charm though it sounds crazy. Try lemon water, if you choose to use non-ammonia cleaner.
3. Using dishwashers
To clean things other than dishes you can make use of the dishwasher. In your dishwasher, go ahead and throw those dirty light fixtures, refrigerator drawers, air ducts, and even some window blinds. This is the best way you can clean up things.
4. Riff off the carpets
Gum in your carpet? No problem! You need to use a dull knife blade to pry it right off with the use of a piece of ice and freeze it as best as possible. For cleaning the carpets, vacuum cleaners work at its best.
5. Get your loved ones involved
Get the whole family involved! There is no reason you should be cleaning the house yourself when everybody in the house is responsible for the mess. Teach them these cleaning tips as well and your house will be spick and span in no time at all!
6. Using toothbrush
Rather than just taking up cabinet space, that old toothbrush can finally be used for something. Around your sink faucet and to get to spots that your hands and fingers can’t get to, use it to clean the stains.
7. Avoid the odors
The odor that has been lingering for months. Take some vinegar and pour it into a bowl. Let the bowl of vinegar sit overnight wherever it stinks and it should rid that room of its ugly odors.
8. Look at your kitchen
Look at the general scenario of the kitchen. Then think about the materials and products that you will need to clean the kitchen and gather them all together in a basket. Keeping these materials within your grasp while cleaning will make the chore easier and faster. Store them under the kitchen sink for easy accessibility.
9. Use rubber gloves while you clean
Don’t forget to put on your rubber gloves to protect your hands from the strong smell and effect of cleaning products and germs that may come through. Better yet, try to switch from chemical-based cleaning products to the more natural ones.
If strong smells irritate you, you could even make your own cleaning product with household items such as water, baking soda, vinegar, etc… Search the Internet for great ideas. But the best way would be in using a perfect hepa backpack vacuum.
10. Decide on cleaning layout
Prioritize which areas should be cleaned first and make them priority first thing in the morning. The dirtiest or dustiest spot should be cleaned first and then you can work your way through to the areas which only need a quick dusting.
11. Daily cleaning list
After the general kitchen cleaning is done, make sure to follow up with daily cleaning. Here is a list of quick-to-do cleaning tips:
- Wipe off spills and greases at once, during or after food preparation and cooking.
- Make sure to keep your daily utensils clean before taking the night off. Don’t save this task for another day. Before you know it, you’ll wake up one morning with unimaginable loads of plates and stuff, or eventually develop a bad cleaning habit.
- You can also decrease the chore one at a time by scheduling weekly or monthly cleaning updates. Meaning, you can have a once a week or twice a month schedule to clean your refrigerator, oven, and cabinets. It depends on how you can manage.
Always remember that preventing your kitchen from becoming dirty and messy is still the smartest way to de-clutter easily. It always helps to clean here and there, every now and then. However, if you’re a busy homemaker, proper scheduling should do well for you.
